A box of chocolates, a bouquet of roses and a fancy dinner out. Somehow this has become the standard V-day formula and it gets a little boring. If Valentines Day is about showing your loved one how much you care, then the gift or gesture should be entirely about what they really want or love to do. Here are my favorite gift ideas…

Lets face it. Most of us are overworked and even coming home sometimes can be stressful if you know you have a pile of laundry waiting for you. So surprise your sweetie by whisking them to a local hotel for the night. Stop by a local store and pick up a cute overnight bag and fill it with: something sexy to wear, luxurious toiletries, a yummy smelling travel candle, and depending on your budget a piece of jewelry.  You can have a fancy dinner at the hotel restuaurant, but I would prefer to just stay in the room to indulge in room service…and each other.

?Nothing says I love and appreciate you more than the gift of massage. Schedule a massage appointment for both of you and put together a little gift basket of goodies that your loved one can soothe their body and mind with. If a massage isn't in your budget, pick up some body oil and luxurious lotion, scented candles and your lovers favorite fruits and give them a massage yourself. Nothing could be sexier than having your hands all over your partners body easing their tension away!

A New Adventure

According to experts, trying a new experience is one way to keep the flame going in a relationship. This Valentines Day, plan to do something new together. It will help you rediscover what you love about your partner and is the perfect foreplay. Pick something new that is related to what your honey likes to do – for example, if you man is super athletic, plan to go rock climbing at an indoor rock climbing gym. For the foodie in your life, take a cooking class together. For the creative type, take dance lessons together or guitar lessons.
