On Thursday, August 14th, the Styleshack team attended one of Detroit's biggest fashion events. The annual "FASH BASH" runway and fashion soiree hosted by Neiman Marcus and The Detroit Institute of Arts was one of their best years. It was a beautiful night, perfect weather and the attendees did not slack in style. From elegant long beaded dresses to duo matching sets and most importantly, many of the fashion mover and shakers in the city were wearing local designers! Pictured below, looking fashionably feirce in red, is Hoda Salameh from StyleLine Magazine, wearing jewelry by local designer Diana Boesky (The Diana Blake Collection) her beautiful top & skirt by local designer, Emily Thornhill of Homeslice. Makeup: Deep Crush Lipstick & Risky Me Lipliner from local cosmetics company Heidi D Cosmetics.
What made this year's event so fabulous (besides the ambiance & people), was the runway show, styled by, Neiman Marcus' Creative Director & Senior Vice President, Ken Downing! Ken of course, did a magnificent job styling the show and it took the event to a whole new level of high fashion. The trends for Fall/Winter 2014 we saw on the runway, included:
- Western/Aztec Inspired Looks
- Layered Elements
- Statement Outerwear and Power Dressing
- Fur, and a lot of it!
Styleshack gals had a ball at FASH BASH 2014! Styleshack team members Melissa Burke {our talented Graphic Designer}, worked backstage to dress models for the event. She enjoyed being able to work so close to Ken Downing and watch him individually style each model. During the after party, Melissa and Stephanie were privileged to meet Ken Downing and get pictures with him! {They were so excited!} Overall the bites were delicious, the drinks tasteful, the atmosphere beautiful and of course, the fashion– BEYOND anything we could have expected!
