Ladies Who Lead: Renee Rothgarber

{SS} Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are now with Anthropologie?

{Renee} I graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Apparel Merchandising and Marketing. Having been a leader in several campus organizations in college, I knew that that I wanted some sort of leadership role upon graduation. I wanted to pursue a career in fashion but found it difficult to advance in my career ventures while living in Northern Michigan. I packed my bags, left my previous job, and moved within a month. I have been in management at Anthropologie for about a year now!

{SS} Favorite part about your job?

{Renee} My favorite part about my job would have to be working with our amazing & unique product! Our depth and variety really sets us apart from other upscale women’s retailers.

{SS} Who inspires your style? Favorite style icon?

{Renee} I have been obsessed with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen ever since the early ’90’s. I have continued to look to them for inspiration and admire their risk-taking trends (regardless if they look chic or homeless).

{SS} Favorite fashion or lifestyle blog?

{Renee} Something Navy, PeaceLoveShea, Cupcakes and Cashmere, and Life Is BeautyFull (I love her because she is local and is an avid Anthro shopper!)

{SS} Favorite local restaurant?

{Renee} I’m still have so many on my list to try! Some of my favorites so far include Vinsetta Garage and Ronin Sushi. I had never even had Panera or Olga’s before I moved here!
