Sydney, Australia has a way of brining the fashionista out in everyone. Maybe it’s the sunshine or maybe it's the constant beach vibes, but after living here for four months, I have realized that there is something in the air making me explore my personal style and spice up my own wardrobe. The shopping here is not like anywhere else in the world.
Sydney’s street style ranges from funky, bohemian, hipster to classic and chic. I’ve personally grown to love the hipster and bohemian look that Sydney is known most for! What I love most about the stores in Sydney are, these "local Boutiques" don't just "get in" the latest trends, they start them! #trendsettersOne of my favorite hot spots is the busy fashion district in Paddington called Oxford Street.
Whether you consider yourself to be more of a hipster or classic gal, the retail on this street will make you googly eyed! If your looking for young, on-trend apparel for a really good price, you will LOVE Style Syndicate. It’s an adorable boutique with a vast array of women’s dresses, skirts, tops, bottoms, and accessories. Whether your looking for a little black dress for a dinner date or a flamboyant floral dress to go clubbing downtown in, you can find it at Style Syndicate. {Their pieces are SO versatile}.
For more classic and simple items, I would suggest places like Zeitgeist or Blood Orange. Some of my other favorite stores on Oxford Street are Rodeo Show, White Suede, and Stellino!
I love this black and white stripe t-shirt dress (Style Syndicate) with leather sleeve accents for its edgy versatility. You can wear this t-shirt dress "as-is" {in the summer months} or in the Fall/Winter dress-it-up by adding black tights, boots and a great jacket! Another great way to dress up this simple t-shirt dress is, with a funky necklace (shown on the right from Rodeo Show) and black pumps for a night out with the girls!
Featured above are additional trendy looks from the stores I discovered on Oxford Street.
If you’re looking to shop the hottest trends in Australia, Bondi Beach is the place to go. These stores have a beautiful ambiance and some quaint restaurants, making it a great location to show off your new purchases. The must-see stores in this surf town are Inbetween Tangerine, Me and Moo, Tuchuzy, Love Grace and Carousel Bondi.
If your looking for some new bohemian street wear, Inbetween Tangerine is the store for you. Featured above are some of the stores best sellers: the Floral Playsuit, the Leather boxer shorts, and the Hot Pink Maxi Dress. Now, if you're style is Edgy, or in the mood to shop Edgy trends in Australia, below are a variety of products that are currently in store at Carousel Bondi! I love the pattered pants featured here–they just "pop" and are very easy to dress up or down.
Featured below are some of my favorite products from Me and Moo.
{This store is a mix of boho chic & edgy} The little black boots are a must have–they are easy to wear with anything in your wardrobe.
Love Grace is a brand new store, right off the beach in Bondi. Below are two of my favorite accessories from the store. The beach hat is a necessity when visiting a "beach town" and paired with a simple outfit, this turquoise leather wrap bracelet adds a perfect splash of color.
Lastly, a must shop store in Australia is, Tuchuzy. A bit of edgy chic, glam and the perfect street wear. The "power to the peaceful"shirt is a great basic tee to run errands in, but my personal favorite way to rock it is tucked into a leather flounce skirt for an edgy night time look!
One of the best things about destination shopping is picking up new inspiration per the place you are visiting. Even if you don't make a purchase, you can always take away new style tips, notice and discover new trends and take note of looks to incorporate in your wardrobe from the places traveled to.
