T-minus three days and counting til we bid adieu to summer 2013 on Saturday, Sept. 21. Luckily, Mother Nature has blessed Michiganders for the next two days of balmy weather (perhaps not sun-filled, but we'll take the warmer temps for as long as possible).This week's WTW is a hybrid of summer chic (maxi dress and bright floral tote) and fall chic (leather motorcycle jacket and leather booties).
Since we're going through a seasonal transition, it's only fair that our outfit respectively does, as well. A maxi dress is an ideal versatile piece for both warm and cold weather . Surprisingly, for summery temps, the extra long layer(s) keep you cool whilst chic. In the cooler temps, the aforementioned attribute acts as a warm overlay. Top it with a sleek and sexy leather moto jacket for an edgy chic appeal. The thinner the leather, the more opportunities to be able to wear it for more than one season – due to its density – instead of being limited to just one.
Paired with gladiator cut-out ankle boots and a bright floral tote maintains lightness and a dose of warm weather style. The ankle boots heaviness is lightened by the leather strip cut-out detail. The bright and bold floral hues are a perfect balance without being too summery saccharine sweet.
