Michelle Hutchins defines what it means to be a cool mama. She’s a hard working business woman, she has amazing style, and she always makes time for her family. Read our interview below and get to know this cool, one of a kind chick!

{SS}: What is your current profession?

{MF}: I am a Freelance wardrobe stylist for print, commercials, TV and featured films.

{SS}: Tell us about your typical day.

{MF}: Usually my alarm clock goes off at 5am or my children at 6am! That is to be on set or to be a mom. A typical day for me is putting at least 15 hours in. I could be catering to my actor on set or my children, I always have to be on my game and wouldn’t change it for a thing.

{SS}: What do you love about your job?

{MF}: I love my job so much, I don’t call it a job, I call it “Me Time”. I get to be creative and do my dream job. I’m in my element shopping all day for a shoot, lugging bags all over the mall or if I’m on set for 15 hours that day.

{SS}: What would you tell your 23-year-old self?

{MF}: To wait to have kids and travel with my husband. Don’t get me wrong I love and adore being a mom, but I should have enjoyed life before the kids came along. 😉

{SS}: Advice to new moms thinking about starting their own business? How do you find balance? Is it challenging to turn off the “work mode” and go into “Mommy mode” – or have you been able to incorporate your motherhood into your business?

{MF}: Oh wow, turning work mode into mom mode is very difficult for me. Just before a job comes to an end I have to give myself a pep talk about getting back into “Mommy Mode”!! Its hard to find that balance while doing both, I love being a mom but I love running away to recharge and do something for myself. To truly get that balance you have to have an amazing support team around you to make it happen.  I’m so blessed with my amazing husband, Jason that supports every job opportunity that comes along whether it’s local or involves travel. Another key piece is having great care for your children, knowing I don’t have to worry about them while I’m gone for the long crazy hours that my job entails.  When you’re a driven mother like myself, you have to find the proper support!! If you need help, reach out to me and I’ll truly help you find it!

{SS}: Where do you get your daily news fix?

{MF}: Truthfully, Instagram. It allows me to scroll through as fast as I want to stay up on new trends, inspiring designs, local flavor, and some gossip here and there.

{SS}: What do you do to make you feel beautiful, confident and ready to take on anything?

{MF}: With a 2 & 3 year old, when I get a shower and dressed (not yoga pants) I’m ready! All I have to say is thank goodness for hats.

{SS}: What is your “Style Archetype?”

{SS}: Who is your Style Icon?

{MF}: Instagram these days… I get inspired by random bloggers or an amazing self-stylist. Too many celebrities these days get paid to wear things, that’s not an icon to me. But I’ll be honest, Co-Co will always be fabulous!

{SS}: What is your power outfit or accessory?

{MF}: Black head to toe or the right hat of fabulous shoes can always complete an outfit.

{SS}: Who inspires you and why?

{MF}: My mom, Debbie. She is the strongest, loving, caring, passionate person I’ve ever met and she taught me to be the wife, mother, hard worker that I am today!!

{SS}: What are YOUR “words to live by” or favorite saying/quote?
