On Thursday, August 11th, The Detroit Institute of Arts filled with fashion and art lovers to attend Detroit's most stylish annual social event, Fash Bash.

Before the anticipated, sold out, runway show, directed by Neiman Marcus’ senior vice president and fashion director Ken Downing, guests sipped on cocktails and champagne flutes while mingling with familiar faces and Detroit's most elite.

This year's Fash Bash runway showcased a variety of themes and styles for fall 2016 / winter 2017!  Major take away: Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize, and layer, layer, layer! From flowers, feathers, scarves, and more scattered throughout pin up style and 60s mod hairstyles to embellished bags, shoulder grazing statement earrings, rhinestone encrusted sunglasses, and eye catching choker necklaces, it's going to be all about the accessories this fall.

For the layers, an array of coats were present on the runway from long wool camel colored coats, to thick and luxurious furs, to sporty and chic bombers, coats made a big statement on this year's runway.

In addition to accessories and lots of layers, ruffles, sequins, tailored 50s style looks, chunky sweaters, and 80s and 90s influences played a major part in this yea's show as well.

Below are a few of our favorite looks from the runway!
