{SS}: What is your current job?

{RJS}: Director, Social Media at Birchbox

{SS}: Can you share what Birchbox is, do you have a favorite box? What is the best part of your job?
{RJS}: Birchbox is the best place to shop for beauty online. We have a subscription service where for $10 a month for women and $20 a month for men you receive a box of personalized beauty/grooming samples based on a profile you fill out. Then, you can review your samples, earn points, and use those points towards full-size items in our Shop. On Birchbox.com we sell all of the products we sample plus a huge assortment of other beauty and lifestyle products.
We have a women's Magazine and men's Guide where we teach you how to use your samples and cover other interesting beauty and lifestyle trends. The best part of my job is talking to customers. Whether I'm reviewing a product on Instagram and then answering questions in the comments, or finding and commenting on beautiful photos and videos customers have shared of how their using their box products and full-size purchases, interacting with our amazing community is a privilege every day.

{SS}: Secret to work / life balance? (Do you have a go-to App?)
{RJS}: I used to belong to a gym and was having a really hard time making time to go because I work so much. I recently joined ClassPass and I'm obsessed. For $100 a month you can go to 10 classes (so that's $10 a class!) at some of the top studios in New York City. I've also recently become obsessed with Xtend Barre in Brooklyn.

{SS}: In regards to your personal style, do you have a signature accessory?
{RJS}: Every day I wear a necklace my grandmother gave me for my birthday 10+ years ago, it's the first gift my grandfather ever gave her! I remember my grandmother wearing it everyday when I was a kid and I've never taken it off since receiving it. I get so many compliments and I love telling its story. And, what's even sweeter, my engagement ring was made by the same jeweler who made this necklace for my grandmother.

{SS}: A few items in your "Styleshack" A.K.A closet that you can't live without?
{RJS}: I'm not the kind of person who buys a lot of new clothes often, but when I do it's something I *really* love and I'll wear it until it falls apart. I have a black leather jacket from The Gap that I've been wearing every Fall/Winter since I got it 8 years ago, a pair of black leather Converse I bought when I lived in Paris and have been wearing for 5 years, for example.

{SS}: Who inspires your style?  Favorite Style Icon?
{RJS}: Such a great question… I did my Masters in Paris and I completely fell in love with the ParisIan woman's style: converse or ballet flats, trench coat or black leather jacket, skinny jeans, Gerard Darel or Vanessa Bruno bag, and red lipstick. I'll say that my style isn't quite as simple I'm known to add some jazzy jewelry or shoes into the mix, but that is definitely my favorite look.
