The Styleshack team was invited to an exclusive 'Meet the Buyer' event at Saks Fifth Avenue in Somerset. We have the pleasure to meet Contemporary Buyer, Paige Cerand. The quaint event allowed us to personally sit with Paige and have an open discuss and ask her questions on what Fall Trends she is seeing for the season. This experience was so enlightening to hear from the buyer's perspective on what went into the buy for the season and the reasoning behind bringing in select pieces to the stores.Colors that you need to gather for fall include: merlot, reds, pine green, navy and grey. All shades of these focus colors are necessary to an amazing Fall 2014 color palette.
Paige's favorite brands that she is loving for Fall 2014 includes: Helmut, DVF, Vince, Theory, Alice & Olivia and Needle & Thread.Trends that are going to be hot for Fall 2014 are:
- Trophy Skirts: these statement pieces are continuing their popularity into Fall, if you haven't already invested in a statement trophy skirt, Paige recommends picking one up ASAP!
- Sleek Tailoring, or "Borrowed from the Boys," according to Paige: structured jackets, blazers and pieces for the office will continue to be a trend this Fall. Crisp and clean suiting pieces will instantly make you feel put together for any occasion.
- Flannel and Plaids: these woven materials and these checkered patterns have found their way back into the mix and are here to stay. Whether it is a plaid sweater, plaid chiffon blouse, or a traditional warm flannel. These pieces are instantly chic paired with skinny jeans, booties and a great leather jacket.
- Fur and Shearling: Faux or Real, adding a fur vest or added shearling and fur on the trim of a coat or sweater will keep you cozy and warm this Fall.
- Luxe Statement Outerwear: Investing in a quality and statement piece of outerwear is a huge trend for the fall and will also be a staple piece in every girl's closet. Take a risk and venture out from the normal black coat, grey is a great alternative.
