Now that NYFW has come to an end, we decided to look at some of our favorite designers collections to see what trends we want to rock in Fall 2014. Here are some notes on our favorite collections from the week.BCBG Maz Azria:

  • Fur: From jackets, to collars, to vest, fur was mixed into this runway collection.
  • Digital prints: Cool girl prints that are sure to be eye catching this fall.
  • Futuristic: Mixing straight lines with origami shapes gives this collection a modern feel.

          Marissa Webb:

  • Cool Girl meets Comfort!
  • Black, White, and Grey: From plaids to minimalistic designs in luxurious fabrics.. these three colors were a constant theme in this show.
  • Mixing textures: Leather, Fur, and Tweed… three fabulous textures alone, extraordinary together.
  • Sexy, sleek, chic: Webb makes slouchy pants and plaid look sexy and sophisticated.
  • Light pink + Black: This combination was made cool and edgy.. mixing black leather with light pink, whats not to LOVE!

          Rebecca Minkoff:

  • Menswear with a feminine silhouette.
  • Furs, neutrals, and prints!
  • Blush tones
  • Quilted Fanny Packs…… YES PLEASE!
  • Metallics mixed with prints.

         Charlotte Ronson:

  • Dark and Whimsical: The mix of black velvets, lace, and silk took us into a dark fairytale that stays true to the Ronson aesthetic.
  • Floral and Paisley prints
  • Black leather
  • Horizontal stripe tops in lace and leather

         Michael Kors:

  • Printed dresses with leather belts.
  • Chunky sweaters over silk slips.
  • 70’s inspired billow tops and dresses.
  • California Hippie meets New York Chic
  • Fringe skirts, bags, and everything in between!
  • Black lace with shimmery touch that sparkled on the runway.
  • Fur accents and coats were MAJOR.

         Ralph Lauren:

  • Winter white.
  • Blush blazers, furs, and sweaters.
  • All Grey everything! Mixes of greys from silk to fur to even grey suede thigh-highs!
  • Oscar worthy minimalistic gowns that are screaming to be worn on the red carpet.

          Diane Von Furstenberg:

  • DVF signature Wrap dresses that are flattering on almost every body type!
  • Strong fabrics such as sun and moons, rosebuds, clouds, geometric shapes, and a mix of some as well.
  • Fur and velvet accents.
  • Jewel tones
  • Gold metallic dresses in lace, sequins, and silk.

          Lela Rose:

  • Dressy seperates that were trimmed in lace, pearls, and feathers.
  • Strong mixes of prints.
  • Chic party dresses.
  • Black,white, and grey, with a splash of jewel tones.
  • Winter white and beige swept this runway.

          J.Crew:

  • Dropped-waist silhouettes.
  • Flapper fringe detail.
  • Cropped pants and Mixed prints.
  • Fur details.
  • Pinstripe and jean galore.

          Reem Acra:

  • Red Carpet gowns that want to worn for next years award season.
  • Black, champagne, purple, and red were the main colors of the show.
  • Lace, chiffon, and silk were all present on the runway.

          Calvin Klein:

  • Winter white.
  • Black and white mix.
  • Pleats and Plaid.
  • Army green coats tweed coats.
  • Orange, navy, and brown were also colors seen in Kleins show.
  • Patterned sweater dresses perfect with a pair of over-the-knee boots.

          Anna Sui:

  • Bold embellishments including beading and fringe.
  • Asian inspired prints.
  • Bold reds matched with blacks and whites.
  • Fur accents and coats.
  • Jewel and Blush tones.

          J. Mendel:

  • Pleated chiffon evening gowns.
  • Statement furs with diagonal plaid and bold colors.
  • Crystal embellished tulle details.
  • Fur coats and silk dresses making a luxurious and chic look.
  • Leather and fur mix.

           Overall NYFW was filled with luxury and chicness from chiffon evening gowns to leather and fur. This years Fall 2014 shows got us excited to do some serious shopping.
